This morning it was cold and sunny.
07:30am – Babe was awesome, full of pee, poop and puppy energy. He helped me get his breakfast and then off to the kennel.
11:00am – Session 1.
I had to do some yard work and it was perfect weather. We used the tree cutting as the session. Babe hung out with us – we worked recalls, LOTS of desensitization, house and place.
He excelled!
4:00pm – Session 2
We chained multiple behaviors in a random order and then lots of ultimate workout.
He’s really getting the system down pat!
6:00pm – play time and dinner.
8:00pm – play time and walk.
10:00pm – play time and walk.
Some things to think about:
Yard Work With Your Puppy
Do it. In fact do all things with them in tow!
Be mindful and keep an eye on them – leash on at all times.
Use the environment to give you cues to practice behaviors. For example: while working today a jogger ran by. Babe took off after her ready to have some fun. She stopped turned around and started loving on him.
He was definitely enjoying that.
Which presented the perfect opportunity to recall with a whistle. A recall has to work when the dog is in the middle of something he finds pleasure-able.
